This poem was an assignment for school. I came up with most of it a month ago, but since I have to turn it in in on Monday, I finally worked on adding "at least 3 DIFFERENT types of literary devices". So today I added a verse, and messed with the others a little. Does that count as one of my three writings for the week?
Apple pie,
What a wonderful treat,
With a flaky crust
And filling so sweet.
Baked in the oven
Three-fifty degrees,
Then there’s a ding!
And it’s ready to please.
Smells like cinnamon
And sugar and spice,
“Where’s my piece?”
“I want a slice!”
One tasty bite
And you’ll want more;
As you sink in your teeth
Your spirits will soar.
A sweet, warm hug,
As pretty as snow,
Apple pie is the best,
And I love it so!
